This issue of the Asian Australasian Neuro and Health Science Journal presents five contributions spanning neurotrauma, degenerative cervical spine disorders, pediatric neuroinfection, spinal oncology, and spinal tuberculosis. The original research articles investigate the associations between inflammatory and coagulation biomarkers and neurological outcomes in traumatic brain injury, perioperative interleukin-10 responses following cervical decompression, cerebrospinal fluid inflammatory markers and hospitalization duration in pediatric ventriculitis, and molecular biomarker expression in relation to postoperative outcomes following spinal meningioma resection. A comprehensive literature review further explores current diagnostic approaches and evolving therapeutic strategies for spinal tuberculosis, emphasizing the importance of timely diagnosis, appropriate surgical indications, and multidisciplinary management.
Collectively, these articles highlight the growing role of clinical and molecular biomarkers in neurosurgical assessment while reinforcing the importance of evidence-based surgical decision-making. By integrating clinical research with contemporary perspectives on diagnosis and treatment, this issue aims to advance understanding of neurological disorders, support improvements in patient care, and encourage further research across diverse fields of neurosurgery and neurological health sciences.
